No, EU regulations only apply to temporary stays in other EU/EEA countries. If you or your company relocates operations abroad, you'll need to arrange a local mobile subscription. Your Swedish mobile subscription isn't designed as a permanent solution for extended stays outside Sweden.

What qualifies as temporary stays?

If you consume more data or spend more time abroad than in Sweden during any four-month period, it's classified as permanent roaming or excessive use.

What happens then?

You'll be contacted and notified via SMS about excessive use. If you choose to continue, you'll be charged according to regulated rates (prices excluding VAT):

Calls: SEK 0.30/min
SMS: SEK 0.10/message
MMS: SEK 0.07/message
Data: SEK 0.07/MB

Cost Control for data abroad protects you from high data charges outside the EU/EEA. It sets a monthly spending limit for your data usage. The default limit is €50, as defined by EU regulation. You can increase the limit via SMS or in MyBusiness if you need more data, but the cost control cannot be turned off completely.

Once you reach your set limit, mobile data is blocked for the rest of the month. The limit resets automatically at the start of the next billing cycle, allowing you to use data up to your set amount again. You can also increase the limit when it is reached to continue using data before the reset.

Cost control applies to pay-per-MB data usage and daily data limits in the countries you visit. See the country-specific limits in our price list for data abroad.

Cost control does not apply to add-on services or extra data packages that you have purchased separately.

Changing your cost control limit is free. You can update it in MyBusiness or by sending an SMS:

• KDU Start to 4466 (Limit: SEK 700)

• KDU 1000 to 4466 (Limit: SEK 1,000)

• KDU 2500 to 4466 (Limit: SEK 2,500)

• KDU 5000 to 4466 (Limit: SEK 5,000)

• KDU 10000 to 4466 (Limit: SEK 10,000)

Prices include VAT.

With Smart Connect, Touchpoint, and Touchpoint Plus, calls within the EU/EEA are charged at Swedish mobile rates. Messaging and data work the same way as they do on a standard business subscription without a PBX solution.

With Office Extension, the rates that apply to calls outside the PBX within Sweden also apply to roaming calls within the EU/EEA. Messaging and data work the same way as they do on a standard business subscription without a PBX solution.

Calls to Sweden are charged at the same rates as domestic calls routed through Telia's mobile network. Calls within and between EU/EEA countries are charged at the same rates as domestic calls in Sweden routed through a mobile operator other than Telia.

1. Start by restarting your phone.

2. Make sure data roaming is enabled. For instructions on how to activate data roaming, see our mobile phone guides.

3. Try manually selecting a different network operator in your phone's settings.

4. If possible, test your SIM card in another device to determine whether the issue is with your phone.
