IT that works – with fast support and responsive collaboration
When EFK set out to modernize their IT environment, technology was just one piece of the puzzle. They wanted a partner who could deliver excellent support, take daily operations off their plate, and stay engaged in ongoing conversations about how to evolve their setup. With Telia, they now have a modern, cloud-based platform and a partnership that feels both professional and personal.
EFK is a nonprofit organization with headquarters in Örebro, but its approximately 80 employees are spread across the globe. International fieldwork is a core part of their mission, and they support partners working to help vulnerable children in Brazilian favelas, improve healthcare in Zambia, and provide microloans in the Central African Republic.
We were looking for a digital workplace that would work both technically and for our employees in their day-to-day work.
A platform that evolves with the organization
EFK had already started moving from on-premise software to a cloud-based platform with their previous provider. But to get a setup that meets their operational needs and can grow over time, they needed a new partner who could challenge them strategically while delivering excellent support.
We needed more than just a technical setup – we needed a partner who meets us where we are and takes initiative on improvements.
Today, Telia provides managed IT support and operations, networking, fiber connectivity, Microsoft 365, consulting services, and security. The path to the right setup began with a multi-stage needs analysis where the Telia team immersed themselves in the organization's daily operations and challenges.
Nicki Malm, sales specialist at Telia, highlights the collaborative process as a key success factor. He explains that Staffan Jenemark and his colleagues at EFK dedicated time to multiple sessions where needs could be explored thoroughly, and new insights and requirements emerged along the way.
When we get the opportunity to work that way, we can create setups that truly work.
Technology that becomes an asset in daily work
The thorough needs analysis led to simplifications, cost savings, and an IT environment that better supports employees throughout the workday. After implementation, EFK was able to decommission older servers, simplify account management for international staff, and create more manageable IT support using Intune and cloud-based tools.
"Day-to-day work has become smoother for both users and IT staff."
Staffan describes the onboarding phase as thorough and personal. Telia's technicians conducted site visits, analyzed equipment, and identified what needed to be replaced and what could be retained.
"We always knew exactly who to contact, and they had a complete handle on the situation. It felt secure the whole way through."
Support with a feel for communication
What Staffan keeps coming back to is the support. Employees get help with everything from passwords and printer settings to SharePoint questions. The support staff receives praise for their speed and availability, but also for their clear communication and presence.
"The most common comment we get from our employees now is: They're so fast! That's a fantastic feeling when you're dealing with a heavy workload."
During the first month of the new IT service, some issues arose, partly due to illness and sick child care within the support team. But instead of excuses, EFK received direct and transparent feedback.
"Nicki and Leon Silver, who is our technical account manager, reached out immediately, explained the situation, and took responsibility. In my view, it was a positive reminder that even large organizations are made up of people," says Staffan.
