Telia's public transport customers reduced CO2 emissions by 7, 400 tons through efficient and sustainable driving

Telia's sustainability strategy addresses both the company's responsibility to manage its own environmental footprint and its role in providing tools and business opportunities that enable customers to reduce theirs.

EcoDriving for public transit buses is one example of how Telia customers use IoT and onboard driver services to optimize their vehicle fleets – where every trip counts toward reducing fuel and energy consumption, cutting both costs and CO2 emissions. That's why Telia and its partner Drivec calculated the savings achieved by Telia customers in 2023.

In 2023, Telia EcoDriving customers collectively saved*

• 1.1 million kilograms of gas

• 7, 391 tons of CO2 emissions

• SEK 95 million

• 45.5 GWh – when all fuel savings (diesel + gas) are converted to energy

*About the calculation: These figures represent the results of data analysis from the Telia EcoDriving/Drivec system. The analysis examines the impact on fuel consumption based on consumption patterns per depot, vehicle model, driver classification, and road type (city, highway, or mixed), along with the savings enabled by the platform in terms of fuel consumption (gas and diesel), cost, and CO2 emissions.
