Internet services

When you are in Telia’s network, the services described below will be available to you provided that your home operator supports each service. Contact your home operator’s customer service department to determine which services are supported or to obtain assistance if you are experiencing problems using any of the services.

Data traffic

  • GPRS (General Packet Radio Service)
  • HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data), provided that you have a mobile phone that supports High Speed.

Edge

Telia offers Edge (up to 236 kbit/s downstream), a technology for people who need a high data speed on their mobile phone. It is necessary for your mobile phone to support Edge.

3G

Telia now offers 3G up to 384 kbit/s, provided that you have a mobile phone that supports 3G and a 3G SIM card.

High speed 3G

Telia has launched Turbo-3G in the major cities, university towns and holiday resorts. This offers surf speeds as high as 7.2 Mbit/s. In order to use Turbo-3G, you need a computer with a PC card or a mobile phone that supports HSPA (high-speed packet access).

Email

Using Telia’s network you can send and receive e-mail via your mobile phone and mobile broadband on your laptop. You can use the e-mail service wherever there is GPRS coverage.

WiFi

Using Telia Homerun you can get connected in 1,500 surf zones with WiFi. You obtain a transfer speed of up to 54 Mbit/s, faster than most fixed-line broadband connections. Read more about Telia Homerun and WiFi »

On our coverage map you can see where there is coverage for Turbo-3G, 3G, GPRS/Edge and WiFi. In order for the map to show this, you must first switch to coverage for Data and Internet at the top right of the coverage map.
